Kees and Truus have lived in the same narrow canal house in Amsterdam for forty years, with the curtains open, of course. They have nothing to hide and a windowsill to show off.
They dress the Dutch way: practical first, colour second, and matching never. Navy with mustard, green with red, and socks that have never met each other. If it’s warm, waterproof and goes on a bike, it’s an outfit.
Kees cycles to the market every Saturday, rain or shine, and comes back with exactly what was on the list.
Truus goes with him, comes back with three new plants and a stroopwafel for each of them, and calls it a successful morning.
Their motto: “Gezellig is not a word. It’s a way of life.”
A second life
Kees began as a vintage cocktail glass, a soup bowl and a yogurt pot. Truus began as a vintage vase, a small bowl and a yogurt pot. Each piece was cleaned, assembled, hand-painted in many layers and sealed, turning objects with a past into two one-of-a-kind characters.

Please note: Kees & Truus are unique handcrafted pieces. Small imperfections and signs of a previous life are part of their individual characters.
Details
Every piece is handmade by me in my Haarlem studio, so small variations in colour, shape and texture are part of its character.
Jewellery is made from polymer clay or resin, with hypoallergenic, gold-plated stainless steel fittings. Keep it away from water, perfume and creams, and store it separately to avoid scratches.
Character planters are made from repurposed ceramic and glass, sealed with waterproof varnish. Keep your plant in its plastic nursery pot and lift it out to water. Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth.

I ship jewellery to the Netherlands, most of the EU and selected countries worldwide. Character planters ship within the Netherlands only.
Orders are prepared within 1–5 working days. Delivery takes 2–3 working days in the Netherlands (1 with Express), 3–5 working days elsewhere in the EU and 5–10 working days worldwide. Shipping costs are shown at checkout.
Local pickup at my Haarlem studio is possible by appointment.
