A little about me
Hi, I’m Dimi, the hands (and occasionally the messy fingers) behind Studio Ofeefee, a little creative studio in Haarlem.
I’ve always loved making things and playing with colour. But life got busy, and creativity took a back seat. Studio Ofeefee began when I needed to find my way back to myself. I’ve always believed that expression is the opposite of depression, and making things became my way of finding joy again. What started as something just for me slowly grew into something I wanted to share.
Why Ofeefee?
Ofeefee means yellow in Yoruba, a West African language spoken mainly in Nigeria, and also in parts of Benin and Togo. I’ve always loved yellow: warm, a little loud and pretty hard to ignore. A bit like some of my creations!
Jewellery
This is where Studio Ofeefee began. I love playing with colour, texture and unusual shapes, and I make everything by hand from polymer clay and resin. Some pieces are bold, some playful, some a little quirky, but all of them are made to be worn and noticed. Wear them to stand out, or simply to feel a little more like yourself.
I work in small batches, so no two pieces are ever exactly the same. Yours will be a little bit one of a kind.
Objects & Characters
I have a soft spot for forgotten things. I find them in thrift stores and charity shops, and sometimes on the street, where people leave unwanted items outside their houses or next to the bins. Every now and then there’s a small treasure hiding in the trash.
I take them home, give them a thorough clean and prepare them for colour. Then the fun begins: they turn into little characters with names, personalities and stories of their own. Some are elegant, some eccentric, some a little ridiculous. Rather like people, really.
Which one is you?
I don’t make things to be perfect. I make them because creating makes me happy, and I hope a little of that happiness finds its way to you, too.
